December 2 - Cyber Monday
Cyber Monday is a marketing term for the Monday after Black Friday, the Friday following Thanksgiving in the United States. The term "Cyber Monday" was created by marketing companies to persuade people to shop online. It was invented by shop.org that grew out of the observation that millions of working Americans, fresh off a Thanksgiving weekend of window shopping, were returning to high-speed Internet connections at work on Monday and buying what they liked. Lots of people shop online during Cyber Monday due to the big discounts and the free shipping and handling. Customers take advantage of this season to get a head start on their holiday shopping with massive online-only deals and savings. No line ups, no hassles, just easy shopping from home.
December is also widely known as the “Christmas Season”. As everyone prepares for Christmas and buys gifts, the months of November to January are also the busiest in retail as a lot of people shop during this time. Malls get crowded, sales happen every so often and stores promote their products in many ways. Americans are raving fans of online shopping and they usually take advantage of this option during Christmastime.

By the last week of January stores usually have their end of winter season sale. This lasts until February. The closest it is to the end of the season, the bigger the price reduction gets. The items that go on sale during this period are:

Watches, polo shirts, ties, pens are the items that usually go on sale at this period.

July 4: Independence Day
Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a national holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies.
In line with the festivities, stores offer merchandise that exhibits patriotism. This can be seen in clothes, decorations or even party favors.
Out of season items are usually given a reduction on price during this period.
August
As school usually starts on the last week of August, this month is dedicated to back to school shopping. As 90% of children in the United States are under the public school system, teen clothes, back to school items are the ones in the forefront of stores for this month.
June

Labor Day
Labor Day or International Workers' Day (also known as May Day) is a celebration of the international labor movement.
May 1 is a national holiday in more than 80 countries including the Philippines. Other countries like the United States celebrate different Labor Days, usually on a date with special significance to the labor movement in the country. In 1891, then US President Grover Cleveland signed a legislation to commemorate workers on the first Monday of September.
As far as shopping holidays go, There’s no gift giving associated with this holiday, Yet those who do decide to spend their time off at the mall or visiting online retailers will find discounts waiting for them, at least on certain items. Early September is the best time to shop for back to school items and not on August as everyone is doing their shopping for August. A huge reduction on prices for back to school items occur during this weekend.
October
Halloween is celebrated on October 31st. As trick or treating and Halloween parties abound on this time of the month, parents and adults go online and to stores looking for decorations and costumes.
November
This month is the start of the busiest time in the year for retail. Retailers call this the “Holiday Season or Shopping Season”.
The shopping starts on November 28 for Thanksgiving.
Americans spend thanksgiving with their family with an elaborate feast which usually includes the widely known, thanksgiving turkey. Prior to Thanksgiving, People rush to supermarkets and groceries in preparation for the Thanksgiving dinner.
Most government offices, businesses, schools and other organizations are closed on Thanksgiving Day. Many offices and businesses allow staff to have a four-day weekend so these offices and businesses are also closed on the Friday after Thanksgiving Day.

Black Friday is not an official public holiday as such, but many non-retail employees and schools have both Thanksgiving and the day after off, followed by a weekend, thereby increasing the number of potential shoppers. It has routinely been the busiest shopping day of the year since 2005. Black Friday is the day retailers and bargain hunters have been waiting for. Stores have major sales. For many years, it was common for retailers to open at 6:00 a.m., but in the late 2000’s many had crept to 5:00 or even 4:00. This was taken to a new extreme in 2011, when several retailers (including Target, Kohl's, Macy's, Best Buy, and Bealls) opened at midnight for the first time.
